Cheshire Media Academy is a unique opportunity for young people aged 9 – 24 years from the Cheshire community to gain an insight into the exciting world of media.
The aim of the Academy is to help and encourage local young people to gain practical and hands on experience in Radio, Film, Television, Photography, Journalism, Law and Events.
The students will by working on projects such as Local Heritage, Culture, Tourism, Sport, Music and Environmental issues. The Cheshire Media Academy is working with Local Schools, Colleges Youth Projects and other agencies. Learning new skills, utilizing and creating an awareness of local resources through internet radio broadcasting, short Films and News items.
But overall we're all here to have fun :)
Cheshire Media Academy is looking for local primary school students from year 9-12 years old to join in our Workshops. We are offering a unique experience for local pupils in classes 5, 6 7 and 8 who maybe looking to gain an insight into the world of media.
Over 6 weeks at £30 per pupil, pupils will join in our workshop of designing a radio station. From naming there station to presenting guests, reading news articles, sports and music pupils will gain experience of the exciting media world.
We will film them along there journey and at the end of the 6 weeks each pupil will receive a DVD with there finished media work. This may also be used for promotional purposes.
We will be running our workshop on 6th November 2013 to the 12th December at our studio in the Verdin Exchange from 4.15pm-6.15pm on a Wednesday and Thursday evening. A snack will also be provide for pupils.
We are insured and Enhanced CRB and DBS checked. We are members of the Youth Federation and follow Cheshire West and Chester Council Safeguarding Policy.
